What does StockLock do?

It sets purchase limits on your Shopify store: maximum, minimum and pack sizes per product, totals per collection, limits per customer across all their orders, members-only products, blocked customers and invite-only drops. Shopify's checkout enforces them.

Does it work with express checkouts?

Yes. Limits are enforced by a checkout rule that Shopify runs for every checkout, including Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and cart links.

Which themes does it work with?

Any Online Store 2.0 theme, with no theme code edits. You switch on the StockLock app embed in one click, and can add the Limit note block wherever you like on product pages. Checkout enforcement works whatever your theme.

What do shoppers see?

On product pages, quantity boxes stop at the limit and a note explains it. In the cart, StockLock lists anything over a limit above the checkout button. At checkout, the order can't be completed until the cart is within limits. All wording is yours to edit.

How do per-customer limits work?

StockLock counts what each signed-in customer has bought of a limited product across their orders, from when you start using it. You can also recount the last 60 days of orders. Guest checkouts can't be counted across orders, so pair per-customer limits with members-only or invite-only products for drops.

What is an invite-only drop?

A release only invited customers can buy at first. Choose its products and collections, who's eligible (by spend, number of orders, tags or past purchases) and how many to invite, at random or by rank. Invitees get a tag and a customer segment you can email. Everyone else sees your message at checkout until you open the drop, by hand or at a set time.

Can customers be exempt from limits?

Yes. Add exempt tags, such as wholesale or staff, and customers with those tags skip quantity limits.

What happens if an order gets past a limit?

StockLock tags it and holds it before it ships, so you can decide whether to cancel, refund or let it go.

Is there a free plan?

No, but every plan starts with a 7-day free trial with every feature. See pricing for the plans.

What happens if my plan ends?

StockLock stops enforcing limits and disappears from your storefront within the hour, but your limits, settings and drops are kept. Choose a plan again and everything switches straight back on.

Will a traffic spike cost me more?

No. Plans are by orders a month, not visits. Your limits run inside Shopify, so shoppers browsing never reach our servers.

Does it work with Shopify POS or headless storefronts?

StockLock is built for the Online Store. It adds nothing to Shopify POS, and the storefront notes need an Online Store 2.0 theme.

Where is my data stored?

Your customers' data stays in your Shopify store: per-customer counts are saved on the customer in Shopify. Our servers keep only what's needed to run the app for your store. See the privacy notice for the details.

What happens if I uninstall?

Shopify removes the checkout rule and app embed, and we delete your store's access tokens straight away and the rest of your store's record when Shopify asks us to, 48 hours after uninstalling.

How do I get help?
